Happy (Orthodox) New Year. When I worked in Belgrade we had 2 Christmases, 2 New Years and 2 Easters - Orthodox (following the Gregorian Calendar) and the ones celebrated at home according to the Julian Calendar.

This was taken from a colleague's house where we welcomed in the Orthodox New Year. They had just returned from Moscow and it was a fun night of caviar, vodka and watching fireworks over Sveti Sava - St Sava Cathedral. Wow Megan! What a terrific photo of this unusual (at least to me) edifice. I bet it looked so different during the day. Not only do I love the nicely lit windows, but the gold statues on the different domes. (Sounds like a decade ago, the Holidays were interesting AND fun.:))) All my best, Les x
