It has been a very hot dry summer and my garden has been a bit sad, yesterday I noticed a long flower stalk peeping up

We had 2 massive thunderstorms today (so far) and after the first I glanced over to the flower stem and couldn't resist attaching my macro lens, grabbing the tripod and kneeling in the wet grass to grab shot or three

I know I have been absent for awhile, I lost my mojo, and then work offered me three months work away which was exciting and full of potential inspiration, but then that fell through.
But then the internet has reunited me with a long lost love and I am rediscovering my joie de vivre (and he's a photographer so I think my mojo will be rediscovered). I took great joy at running around in the rain - it was a very warm day - something lovely about being in the run when the weather is hot

I'm so glad to see you post Megan! That's fabulous news that you have someone to share your photography with. You've caught some lovely refractions there and I LOVE refractions. Fav :)

Fantastic macro! The raindrops add just the right touch to this beautiful flower that is about to bloom.

Oh wow, that's a great story and love this great shot that's been inspired by your change of mood. Look forward to following you on your travels, by the sound of it, too.

lovely shot

Beautiful shot - today we had the annual pancake race (in the very cold rain) so running in warm rain sounds so appealing! Shame that your trip fell through but how lovely to find a lost love! I had a french boyfriend and found him on the internet, it's been lovely to swap news and photos, and so exciting to think we can still be in touch. Haven't got my passport out as he's taken but I hope yours is up to date :)

Amazing DOF with the muted background colors.

Geographically undesirable! But you love to travel, so what is the problem?

Hoorah for fun in the rain and returning mojos :) We missed you!

I love the water droplets in your pic too :)

@jgoldrup you're right, the only drawback is the cost of travel - but so many future photo opportunities ahead

@filsie65 my Aussie passport is current, sent away the renewal for my UK passport last week - mine is not taken (except by me) - it is wonderful to catch up
