you see it everywhere just as soon as november starts; in ddifferent colours - red, pink, white, cream, and sometimes i see them almost yellow, and also variegated red, green and white combination. i particularly like the yellow variety.
Yes! This definitely says "Merry Christmas!" I looked all over town for a Christmas cactus this year . . very hard to find one. Poinsettia were all over the place and beautiful as ever. Great photo, summerfield. It's even prettier with the framing and the detail is fabulous!
@karenann - second time i come across this 'Christmas cactus' around here on 365. exactly what is it and what does it look like? now i have to go around to the florists tomorrow and try to find one! hehe. thank you for your comment, karenann. you are always very kind to me and my photo. :-)
@sunnygreenwood - anne, thank you. and after 354 posts, my first one now has a comment. yay!
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. the red is actually a deep red but the camera captured it as more on the orangey side. i had googled the Christmas cactus and realize it is what we call the 'dragon plant' back in the old country.
gorgeous colour! forgive my long silence - I have had a really hectic three weeks and will catch up - going to post quite a lot of pics every day to get me there...and will try and get up to date on all your photos in the next week or so.
@patticake - aw, patti, no problem at all. i myself am waaaayyyy behind in commenting everyone's posts. when i thought i've caught up suddenly i realize there are more people's album i haven't been to. so no problem, take your time.
Love the look of poinsettias ~ I had a picture of the bloom of a christmas cactus, then I got deleted it when I hit the year mark. ~ I could repost it.
thank you, pam and terry. much appreciated.

@beba8162 - thank you, roberta. the deep red of these plants are really beautiful.
@samdan - i just saw a peachy coloured one tonight! they are gorgeous. thank you, lesley.
