so the world that is toronto was filled with snow this morning, and with that was some very fierce wind, hence the city issued a cold warning. at around lunchtime, the sun defiantly shone through the clouds and by the afternoon, some serious sunshine was happening, albeit the cold continued.
i was all over this morning to take photographs but it was just all grey and grey so it was really uninspiring. but i had the idea of going to the place uptown to take a shot of the city skyline. you might remember this view from my june entries last year when i photographed the CN tower for 30 days (see ). so here it is, sans the green foliage and sunshine and with overcast skies. the socker fields are all frozen and icy and some families took advantage and brought their children toboganning.
thank you all for your comments. i'm still playing catch up.
@jimwilson - say hello next time you pass by toronto. thank you, jim.
@karenann - my 'k' was situated near the lake so i had to go downtown to get to the boardwalk. since i was out anyway, thought i'd pass by the soccer fields to get this winter shot. it's not as wintry as i wanted it to be though. thank you, karenann.
@sunnygreenwood - trying to stay warm but wanting to go out and take pics. the sun is so bright right now as i type. thank you, anne.
@espyetta - soccer fields in the centre, as well as in the foreground. below the bridge is the highway. there's a river but it's not in the photo because it is way down south of where this is. thank you, MB (the fire engine-cum-deer photo is great!)
@summerfield Just right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH NO !!!!!!!!!!! You would love it here then , it is only about 20 above zero. LOL I guess you get use to it.
@sarasdadandmom - hahaha! you know in the mid 1990's i think it was, we drove down to chicago and they US was having a terrible cold spell. it was -15F and there was a guy at the gas station who drank a pepsi as he walked to his car and his lips just clung to the can. he was cursing mad and he was bloodied all over. then we drove back to ontario and it was a mild -2 in ontario. of course it's the other extreme we get here during the summer.
@cscecil - yup, my sweet friend. cold! i froze my...fingers!!! thank you, CS.
