"Prairie Tragedy"- the headline from today's newspaper. A minibus with twenty-five seniors, mostly from Dauphin, Manitoba, was struck by a semi-truck at an intersection on the Trans Canada Highway. Fifteen people died at the scene, and ten were taken to hospital. The carnage is unfathomable, with bodies and walkers and wheelchairs crumpled and strewn everywhere and the bus burned to a crisp. This tragedy has struck especially close as Dauphin is Carolyn's hometown- a small prairie community of 8,500. This is her photo of the area around Dauphin. It's all land and sky!
That’s such a tragic story, Heather. It’s hard to imagine how this kind of thing happens. My heart goes out to all those poor people that were affected.
I'm just reading this (Sat. evening). I'm so terribly saddened for all involved. Not only does it devastate the community but it touches the souls of others far and wide.
