For several decades my father was "Mr. Fireworks," which entailed soliciting funds and purchasing the fireworks for the annual 4th of July celebration. He always brought home a box of fireworks to shoot before the big display, and all these years later we still light a few fountains, dancing flowers, and sparklers before the big display. Though he passed his title on to another many years ago, this particular display always reminds me of our celebrations when we were young. Back then the trees in the neighbor's yard were much smaller and didn't obscure the display like they do today. Even so, it was still fun to get an image of how this display lit up the sky at the end of a day filled with a parade, picnics, and the annual PRCA rodeo.
