Went to town today and driving past the park I saw these young skateboarders. I asked if I might practice some photography, and they said sure. Over 50 shots, and this is the only one that is anywhere near close to focused on the subject with a hint of panning. I did shorten my time to 1/30th, or maybe 1/25th, which helps with focus but lessens blur. I also decided that panning works better with slower moving subjects. I'm not that happy with the background as it just looks unfocused to me without a nice sense of movement. Either way, here's another for my push.
Tineke @tstb Tried panning with these young skateboarders when I was in town today. Still not very happy with my results, but I might be beginning to grasp a rudimentary understanding of how to do it.
You know, you could probably just crop it down to the two kids, to the right past that post with the white box, and it would be so much stronger and convey a really good sense of movement...
hahaha! and then i forgot to give you your challenge. you have so many amazing photos. but i had just finished a month of the alphabet - things, shape and shadows that looked like letters. it was fun and it hones further the creativity and imagination. your challenge is to find letter shapes and form a phrase or a short sentence, like "thank you" or "hooray!" have fun!
