Liz challenged me to take a photo using the theme of "journey." I still have a long way to go with setting up photos, but I knew I wanted to do something with a road and old suitcases. Youngest agreed to help, with some limitations (like no highway ... darn ... ). These were my grandmother's suitcases, scrounged from my mother's attic. Might have to revisit this in the future.
Love this! Encompasses all these generations! Just what that suitcase may have seen is so neat to think about! Very nicely processed and well done for the challenge!
Yep, this is very 1930s depression era. Your processing has created a great period feel but the texture layer has an intrusive triangle to the right of her arms which I would have preferred you to have masked out... still a Fav for me.
@vignouse Thank you! I saw that. It's actually the shadow line from the lighting. She was facing due west into the setting sun. I tried burning, but it wasn't very effective. Maybe should have tried a filter? I used lightroom and Topaz. I don't know much about masking. Maybe it's time to learn.
April you use masks in Photo Shop and it is a way of making something on one lay appear or not appear on another layer. If this was a shadow masking wouldn't have helped but cloning might help - Don't know if that is in Topaz. But did you try with the adjustment brush in light room.
Just a fabulous response to the challenge, so very well done. Lovely to see the great comments and all the very well deserved favs you have received for this shot. Gold star! ;-)
If this is what you achieve with staging a scene I really do think you should try it more often!
This is just like a scene from a movie. So well thought out and executed!
Love the vintage look to it.
Congrats on being selected a finalist for the get pushed challenge with this! Good luck!
