From the Oregon Trail along the North Platte River, I traveled north to Fort Robinson along White River. The fort was an outpost during the Indian Wars, and an active military fort until shortly after the end of WWII. This is one of the grand bricks that housed officers stationed at the fort. Today the Fort is a Nebraska State Park, and these buildings house tourists from May through November.
photogq @gq ... Another for my tourist challenge. I grew up in a small town just a few miles east of Fort Robinson. I was up visiting my parents and thought I would include it in my challenge.
Wow! Awesome sky and beautiful tilt to your camera to make the fine old house even more imposing than it is.
Your processing is marvelous and it is a FAV for me.
@marnies Thank you. It is that place. There was also a massacre here. My daughter dislikes visiting this park because of its cruel and violent Indian history.
