Late last summer eldest insisted we divide some of my father's irises and bring them home. He watched a few youtube videos, and we dug up some rhizomes, brought them home, cut them up and planted. He was under the impression they would take two years to bloom. Surprisingly, three of the newly planted divisions have buds. Now to see what color we got ... it looks like purple. If so, I need to go back and mark where dad's yellow and brown iris are so I can be sure to get a few of those too.
