old cottonwood leaves

(preserved from last year ... ) Another for my challenge to take an abstract image with texture as the main component. I got serious this time. Tripod ... f11 ... all three extension tubes on my 100mm macro lens ... 2 second timer to diminish camera shake. My shooting style is handheld, wide open, spur of the moment. Seeing the results of taking a little more time and putting in a bit more effort I am now thinking of using my tripod a bit more.
Sally @salza Another abstract texture image. I'm learning to appreciate a more disciplined shooting approach.

This is stunning April, the details and patterns are absolutely amazing! I have to start using a tripod too, I have only used it twice for moon shots.

Very nice. I, too, hate fiddling with the tripod. But, yeah, tripod and 2 second delay can make a big difference.
