Today we took another drive out to Huasna, which is about the only place we can let the boys run free without danger of cars and poison oak. We managed to miss the rain for about an hour and the dogs could not have been happier! Didn't find a composition that really spoke to me, but it's another good excuse to practice some editing techniques. ...and I never did figure out how to seamlessly clone out that bright spot in the sky. Oh, well. I've still a lot to learn!
Have a wonderful week all you 365ers! And huge, HUGE thanks to all my followers, new and old! Please know I truly appreciate your support and very much enjoy all your photos as well. Peace, all!
Jenn, these colors are so beautiful. I have not seen the fresh color of green in awhile. Thanks!! And that old, dead tree sure does have some stories to tell.
@shanky31 LOL! But what's really funny is that on that road there really ARE dinosaurs. An artist has created life-sized metal sculptures that hang out in the fields all over this area. Shocking and highly entertaining to see, really. I'll have to photograph them soon to show you!
This is great!
In my experiences (very limited, admittedly), I love what HDR processing does to driftwood, old wood, wooden docks, etc. This is no exception. Great job!
P.S. Why didn't you tell me you (very deservedly) won the theme for last week!! I just happened to read the comment above by Elise so went looking and then found the theme for this week that you got to choose. Typically, your momm is the last to know anything! Big-time kudos to you!
@aikimomm Well, gosh, momm, I just found out today! Um, and I didn't tell these wonderful peeps, either. They just check the discussion boards!
;-) loooove you!
Processing is top-notch. And the scene is great, too. Congratulations on being picked for WWYD on the Ancient Mariner. :) I follow his work, and am so impressed at his creativity, like yours.
@aikiuser OK, I'm totally remiss in checking the discussion boards, pop pages, etc. However I did look at the Top 20 for last week and saw your light-written h-o-p-e. Megawoots! And then just this minute to read about about your selection for the Ancient Mariner photo--now where does one find out about those things?!
@aikimomm Thanks, momm! Under the "Discuss" tab at the top under "Themes & Competitions" is where one finds a number of little challenges to participate in if so desired. The "Ancient Mariner" is the second "What Would You Do" (WWYD) challenge that was started recently. http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/3567/wwyd-2-what-would-you-do
Another one is the "Object Challenge" which asks participants to shoot a particular object however they wish. This week's is "tires," and last week's was soda can (hence my Dr. Pepper shot!)
Kinda fun if you're stuck for ideas--which I often am! :-D
