I took this last Thursday, the last day it was sunny and warm in Richmond. I've been holding on to it because I find it really appealing but I just couldn't put my finger on what I liked about it. And then it hit me: The children appear caught in pas de deux scattered across the basketball court, sort of like "Poetry in motion" without the motion.
BTW, normally our students don't wear uniforms, but these first graders were going on a field trip to the SPCA later in the day. For safety's sake, they all wear yellow t shirts so the teachers can round them up easily. I think the uniformity of their outfits adds to the feeling of a performance.
Yes, I like the yellow as well. I think that's what I like...and the way that they are all playing off of each other! It looks like fun and makes me want to join right in!
OMG, Alli, the Youtube link is a riot! I'd like to add it, if you don't mind, to my photo tomorrow...a variation on my series... (it was never exactly meant to be a series...) It's been so funny for me to see how many are sort of swept up into this little Squirrel Cult...hehe!
Thanks for tagging me to follow; I always enjoy looking at your pictures, too. I agree with you, the kids look like they're in a choreographed...you said it best...pas de deux. By the way, I always enjoy your comments...you always word your notes so beautifully!
Re: My photo for today - It was taken in a different office park than the willow you saw the other day :-) Remember I live int he West End...hahaha...office parks and ponds all over the place!
