Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of traditional slides. It goes beyond PowerPoint and allows you to create non-linear presentations where you can zoom in and out of a visual map containing words, links, images, videos. If the explanation sounds intimidating, consider these are 2nd graders demonstrating their book reports, created on the Prezi website, to an audience comprised of parents and 4th graders. The classroom teacher and 365-regular @hwy61 collaborated on introducing Prezi to the 2nd graders. Then I invited the younger students to use the library to share their reports so they could spread out. The 4th graders were already in the library for their regularly scheduled visit. The teacher of the 4th graders and I plan to initiate Prezi with the older kids, who will, in turn, invite the younger class to see what they inspired. One of the great things about our school is the interaction of students and teachers, and this is a perfect example.

Thanks, Allison, for mentioned my part in this. I took bunches of pics of this event too, but since you shared yours, I will share another example of learning at Collegiate School.
We all had fun with this application. Prezi is another example of "cloud computing," meaning that you can access your files anytime from any computer b/c the files are not saved on your computer but rather out in cyberspace "somewhere..." In this casse they are saved at the Prezi site, which you can only access via your id and password, so it is not available to the general public unless you wish to make it public.
Thanks for the tip Allison. I love online tools (especially when free ;-) ) and I will give this one a try. Looks very promising. I think I can make some really nice presentations for the rowingclub with it.

I like how you have gone widescreen horizontal here rather than landscape or portrait as it creates a bigger impact when we view it.
Excellent work as always Allison
