I promised to keep you informed as the school construction project takes shape. Here is the sad beginning with the removal of the entire courtyard including the Japanese maples and some small magnolias and daffodils.. I couldn't get quite the same angle to take today's picture because of the safety fences which prevent a closer look. The big brown lake is due to last night's rain. They say you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs and in this case, you can't have the new classrooms without clearing the land. I'm happy to report that the trees were offered to faculty who were willing to transplant them. I hope they all found new homes.
That looks like it was a nice place to take a breather from being inside all day. I know you're school is growing and needs the classrooms, but I hope they were able to relocate a space for you to sit outdoors too. Glad to know the trees weren't destroyed. Thanks for the update- nice collage!
I guess growth of the school means more kids will get excellent educational opportunities and job security for the staff; but the loss of the courtyard is sad.
