A Flock of Flamingos

I took a real Nature walk this afternoon. You should see my other picture! I was surprised to see flamingos so far north. I wonder if they had taken a wrong turn some where and stopped in Richmond to get their bearings. I had nothing to offer in the way of food or directions, so I took a souvenir picture and continued on my way.

I think they must be a bit confused, perhaps lost their way, and they are so tame. How lucky to spot them on your walk.

These flamingos have adapted well to the northern climate. We have a pair that nest year round in our front yard. A purple relative of theirs has even shown up recently and looks like he will winter here too.
