Raising Crops by allie912

Raising Crops

I went out to the garden for inspiration this afternoon and was drawn to the series of raised beds being prepared for planting. I think there may actually be lettuce started in a few beds. It will be fun to follow their progress through the weeks ahead. Right now, although the sun is bright, the temperature is cool and the winds are sharp. Not surprisingly, I was the only one in the garden and I did not linger.
Sure do hope it warms up! Right now it seems that we're going to by pass Spring altogether!

@barbsmith Yes it is. The kids help with the weeding and watering.

@allie912 That's so wonderful. I have gardened with school groups in the past. It is so rewarding for everyone.

I love raised garden beds, they are so much easier to tend to than the traditional ones. Great shot.

@redfl It has been a crazy mixed-up Spring for us in Virginia too. They are calling for the possibility of snow on Monday, which is practically unheard of in our area.

@olivetreeann @barbsmith @kerristephens @sarasdadandmom @mrssmith @judis @redfl @phil_howcroft I got this comment from our Master gardener, Ellen, "We planted potatoes, peas and lettuce this week. Every year we plant the week after Spring Break and harvest the last week of school. But this is the first time we have planted when it snowed earlier in the morning of planting day."
