Today was Stone Soup Day in Lower School. Students pooled canned goods for a collective gift to hungry Richmond families. It gives the children a vivid illustration of the power of working together.
Looks like they got quite a lot of soup cans.. what an interesting way to teach children ( and maybe adults alike). just googled stone soup and read a wonderful story about a stranger getting the crowd together and and helping him boil a wonderful stone soup.
Yes, Bruni, that is the inspiration. Our children bring different vegetables, depending on their grade level. It all goes to "Feed More" the central Virginia clearing house for feeding programs in the area.They are grateful for our support, and we know that participating helps our students to become more compassionate.
