Virginia Readers Choice

These Second Graders are helping me promote the state reading program called Virginia Readers Choice.Kids across the Commonwealth of Virginia participate to choose their favorite title from a list of ten. We always kick off our participation in January, and finish the voting in mid-April.
Fun photo to capture the event -- the lineup of children with the books behind them is a good idea! (Maybe move the one child in blue at the back to the empty spot on the right?) Looking forward to see what they choose. I'm in Switzerland at IBBY headquarters where we are selecting the next Hans Christian Andersen winner. :)

@jyokota Thanks for your comments. There was a method to my arrangement. Second Graders read the 10 titles on the left, the Primary group. Our Third and Fourth Graders read the Elementary books on the right. Have fun at IBBY. When is the announcement made?

Ah, I see -- so perhaps scoot them down by one so the child in the back shows up on the same lineup? The announcement is made at Bologna Book Fair as a live webcast on March 26 at 1pm Italian time.

I love their smiles. And I really admire your work with your students. I frequently complain that my granddaughter just didn't read enough in school (and we had a hard time getting her to read on her own.) She's doing well in college, made the dean's list, but it just seems there are gaps in her education.
