The Mary Morris Watt Library as seen from the back lawn. I'm really floundering with this week's theme but I 've chosen this view to highlight the two graceful trees. Bare branched now, in the summer they provide blessed shade on those hot Virginia afternoons.
And what is really special about them is that they survived our campus re-make of the late 1990s. They were here when the old buildings were here and when construction began on our present new campus we were all delighted to find out that our old friends (these 2 trees) would remain a part of our new campus.
