Bowed but not Broken

You've heard the expression, "The bigger they are, the harder they fall"? Well that was certainly proven by the massive trees toppled by the force of Hurricane Irene.
Then you see this little cypress tree that took the same blows but remains standing. It may never have the proud straight trunk it displayed before the storm, but it will endure.

There certainly is a lesson in there! You know we always hope that storms will not effect us or change us, but they do. That doesn't mean we haven't come through them in a victorious sense. Like this tree- it's a success because it survived! Great shot and well said!

I love the angle of the trees juxtaposed with the angle of the building and the leading lines that the brick produce. The sepia tones also give it a sense of drama. Great pic!
