The restaurant is called The Phoenician. The website calls it "A taste of Lebanon" but the wall art looks Egyptian to me. Many of these Middle Eastern eateries in Richmond offer a variety of cuisines from Italian to Greek to Armenian. And before the current owners took over, this spot was the home of a Mexican restaurant. I guess they'll keep trying til they find the right menu for the neighborhood.
It's weird that I apparently drive by this restaurant quite often (based on the address from the website) but I've never noticed it before. There really is quite a wide variety of cuisine types in Richmond - I tend to stick with Richmond's Italian options...I'm not very daring when it comes to food.
