This building opened in 1926, originally designed to house a teacher-training school. Since then it has been an elementary school and a junior high and now contains a middle school, educating grades 6-8. The three-story Spanish exterior features ornate stone carvings. The detail and dignity of this structure is an indication of the era in American architecture and education, when schools were considered temples of learning. No expense was spared on buildings that were expected to last for generation.s
