Good Luck by allie912

Good Luck

It's a Southern tradition to eat black-eyed peas for good luck on January 1. Coming from the North, I find this bean rather bland, so I liven it with spiced tomatoes, pour it on rice and sprinkle it with shredded cheese. Then to add further interest, I used the Holgaart effect in BeFunky. You'd never think you were eating such simple fare.
I like mine with corn bread and greens on the side

Looks yummy but I think I stick with my smoked salmon or marinated herring with potaoe salad..a quick and easy meal when one is in a hurry to get ready for partying..

I think your recipe sounds far better than the plain old peas for sure! Neat processing on this!

I forgot about that tradition. When we moved to Virginia back in the 80's I learned of this, but here in the North we eat Pork & Sauerkraut.
