Every year our school includes a book donation component during Parents Night. Today this class of 19 kindergartners received their books, each with a personalized book plate. The books are their donation to the library collection, and will remain long after they have gone on to Middle School. The program is voluntary but as you can see, most families choose to participate.
Great picture and idea! (At our school, a child is asked to donate a book in honor of his/her birthday, then they get their photo posted with the book.)
