This 5 star hotel is special any time of the year, but at Christmas it's magical. My 2 colleagues in the library gave John and me a much-sought-after and hard-to-come-by reservation for tea at the Jefferson, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There were many mothers, grandmothers and little girls all dressed up, enjoying a special time together. I wish Maddie were in Richmond so she could have this wonderful experience.
@phil_howcroft Actually the original E.T.A. Hoffmann story of The Nutcracker and the Mouse King was German and the subsequent suite by Tchaikovsky was Russian so I think I can say without fear of contradiction that this is definitely not a British soldier! ; )
