Not Your Father's Science Fair

A tech expo gives students the opportunity to display their creativity and problem-solving abilities. The science and engineering teachers shown here gave support to the fourth graders, but the work was clearly their own. Some of the highlights were a teddy bear that moved its head, rube goldberg constructions that sent marbles along an elaborate path, a panda made of clay with glowing eyes, music-making devices created when the user completed an electric circuit, a spin art machine and my personal favorite, a game where you click on fashion accessories on a paper and they appear on the computer screen so you can model them. That's GREAT! (Our school is presently struggling with what to do for the dreaded "Science Fair" next year. I LOVE the idea of a Tech Expo!) Lovely shots here showing students' achievements!

@juliedduncan Perhaps I can connect your STEM team with ours, if they decide to pursue this idea.

@allie912 Oh, that would be great! We don't have a STEM team, but still. :)
