Official graffiti?

Notations of different colours, including lines, arrows and numbers indicate what is below the street surface, are everywhere in the streets especially when works are happening.

Manhole covers (or more gender neutrally, people hole covers) for infrastructure access are often artworks in themselves, especially in Japan. Roman Mars eulogises the circle as the perfect shape for lids for such access points giving 'a round of applause for circles' (Roman Mars 2020, The 99% Invisible City: A field guide to the hidden world of everyday design, p. 110).

I find it very interesting that one lot of people with spray cans can legally make such unreadable marks while another lot also with spray cans are doing something transgressive. @leggzy @yaorenliu
