Frome Road - London Plane Tree Avenue

So May is going to be about Adelaide in my People and Places album - yes- I am behind - ha ha - what's new?

The Frome Road avenue was planted in 1902 to commemorate Arbor Day and is one of the best known in Adelaide. It is a fine example of Plane trees being used for that purpose. The tall trees with their wide spreading canopies provide much appreciated coolness and shade during Adelaide’s hot summer months.
What a marvelous street scene! Isn't it excellent that so long ago this was planned, and I wonder if they imagined how long people would continue to enjoy it!

The principal site of my University Studies was on Frome Road. It now looks like a foreign country. I like your photo
