Spirit of the Andes
In Inkan times the “Apu Kuntur” was considered to be divine. He was thought to be a messenger from the sun God. An ancient myth tells of “Apu Kuntur” daily lifting the sun into the sky, and returning it safely to a sacred lake each night.
The lighting in this is fabulous Annie and really makes the feathers stand out. Not sure if this is an eagle or another big bird. Will wait for your instructions! Like Amanda said, this is a great series and such fun. Now that I know you are an early childhood teacher, I can see why you are so good at this!
I spent quite a while watching and photographing this amazing bird - there were three in the exhibit - parents and their young I am assuming but maybe two adults and the juvenile - seeing the wings spread open was awe inspiring - http://365project.org/annied/the-ones-i-left/2014-06-08
