pademelon joey by annied

pademelon joey

So this week it is an animals theme - in my fun with themes albums I am posting in b&w for the black and white challenge..... https://365project.org/annied/fun-with-themes/2018-06-11
I could have sat and watched the pademelons for ages - a few of them were mums with joeys - this was the youngest joey I saw. Probably around six months old - as that is when they first start to emerge from the pouch - this little one was adorable.
The red-necked pademelon (Thylogale thetis) is a forest-dwelling marsupial living in the eastern coastal region of Australia. They are most closely related to wallabies and kangaroos. Pademelons, wallabies, and kangaroos are very alike in body structure, and the three names refer to the three different size groups.
