SHELL - SCA111

SHELL commissioned Tulloch Ltd at Rhodes, to build four 3000 gallon tankers in the mid 1940’s.
They were limited to carrying fuel oil only. Used primarily on an as required basis to country oil sidings.
They were in service from the mid 1940’s – early 1980’s. In 1978 only 3 were in service and they were all out of service by 1983.
You must be a real train expert by now! This ones a bit different

It seems to me they would be busier than ever, so many cars and trucks on the roads these days!

Nice collage.

What a shame more of this kind of cargo isn't carried by rail rather than road.

Nice collage. I admit to having a biased view of increased rail cargo. Flagstaff has 80-100 freight trains passing thru on a daily basis.

@joysabin that's a lot...I prefer it on a train than all the semi trailers we have on our city roads..they're a pain
