I love these things! Their curves and classic styling always attract me, and this red one was too much to pass up!
Confession! My previous sketch book was not compatible with watercolors, so I made this little one out of actual watercolor paper. I'm using it to practice, I have bought 2 lovely Hahnemuhle Watercolor Books, 2 diff sizes, but I want "good" art to go in them! I'm practicing with this one until I'm worthy of those sophisticated art books! @theredcamera (Ellen)
@theredcamera who is going to do the deciding about the “good“ art? If it is you, You will probably never feel your art is good enough. You need to take it from someone else, This is good enough! The proportions, the colors, the lines, everything is perfect in my opinion. In addition, I love how you have compose the photo to make it a fabulous photo as well.FAV
@theredcamera Oh, Ellen! I am so terrible for your loss!!! Because to me it seems you have lost a screw... :) When skills and talent like yours meet quality materials, MAGIC happens. Let the BIG MAGIC happen. Otherwise it will go some place else.
I suggest you start using one and keep the other for 'good' art. But anyone knows that the best art is the done art. Keeping an empty sketchbook is pointless.
Did you ever use Hahnemühle sketchbooks? Aren't you just a tiny bit curious how it feels to draw and paint on them???
@theredcamera oh I love this. So funny reading Moni’s response. I dabble occasionally with a paintbrush. I know what you mean by saving the good quality paper but why. Use it and enjoy it!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thanks Jackie! @grammyn Such positive feedback, Katy, from a fellow Artist (i love 365) so kind to encourage me, I am very grateful. I'm pulling out those "pro" books right away and filling them up!! @salza I appreciate your great comment! @monikozi Again, such great advice! Absolutely the reason I bought the Hanhnemuhle books was to improve my results! And I shall tackle them right away. Thank you for your supportive critique! Such nice praise coming from an Artist like yourself. @wakelys I love Monique's response too, so candid, I needed a stern talking to! Thank you for your compliment, I'm going to delve into my "good" supplies!! @kjarn Well, one is always the most critical of one's work. But through the wonderful encouragement I get here from fellow Artist, I am going to be kinder to myself. Thank you for your positive support.
@theredcamera Heheee... Honestly, I really thought you made the confession just to spark up a debate. We really are very harsh upon ourselves. I should know that. I invented the damn thing. ;)
But in the recent times I have also learned that there's no time like NOW to use the good supplies, the good shoes and the good kitchenware. And if I mess up with any of that, so be it! But have fun in the process. They are all replaceable. Except the fun. And to top it, oh, the joy of shopping for replacements... :)))
