"Just around the Wrekin " is a local saying , The Wrekin is a local Hill and there is a road leading all the way round the base of this . Hence when taking the long way to say something or take the long way to get from A to B --we say -she /he is taking the long way around the Wrekin !!The foliage is amazingly keeping it's colour !
Lovely country lane - the leaves are keeping their colour this year - I think we need a bit of cold to turn them. I had heard this saying but never knew what it meant.
