Crab Apples . by beryl

Crab Apples .

Fruit and berries are so plentiful this Autumn --I hope it does not signify a hard winter !!
This little crab apple tree was laden with deliciously red apples -- shame they are so sour !! --but they make beautiful crab-apple jelly and I used to make crab apple wine -- delicious !!!!

They are such a beautiful colour. As I type this I have the crab apples we collected from my Mother in Law's garden boiling to make jelly. Haven't made it for years so hopefully it'll come out OK!

The season of autumn and 'fruitfulness' includes berries! Though these don't look edible they do make a colourful picture!

They look so sweet being small and so clustered together. But of course, not tasting sweet is a different story altogether!
