Getting ready for Christmas , I made a batches of mince pies and put 2 doz in the freezer until needed !!!
I have been up since 5a.m - I woke up so hot to find the central heating on full blast in spite of the fact that I had turned off the heating on going to bed last night . I telephoned British gas who tried to instruct me to turn it off, I acted completely senile and finally he said an engineer would come out ( after all I pay a contract for this service !! ) A very pleasant young man has just come out and replaced the tank thermostat - so now hopefully all is in working order ! Now I have a splitting headache -- I hope it will go as the heat decreases in the house !
I love mince pies. My mother made just the best ones! You are ready for a crowd! Good for you. Heat makes me sick faster than cold, hope you are okay now!
Oh dear Beryl, sorry but I had to laugh! You were a very wise woman, they expect us to know everything about stuff that shouldn't concern us! We pay them fir such eventualities! How odd that it came on by itself & what a good thing it was today & not the weekend & Christmas! Think you were very fortunate there! Delicious looking mince pies! Did you give the repair man one!
Your mince pies look delicious Beryl and don't they smell lovely as they come out of the oven I always have to test one. Good you got your gas sorted out before Christmas.
You're not alone in making these mince pies. Christine has them ready, too, and they are delicious. My sister-in-law and her daughter have posted pictures on FB of them making their own mince pies together. Enjoy them while they last.
