The Arum Italicum is now in berries - red and poisonous . Earlier in the year I posted the veined variagated spear shaped leaves , and the white lily like flowers , now they have demised and we have the berries ! The birds are wise not to touch them as they are poisonous ,so they are left alone to rot away and disappear into the soil . A breezy day with sunshine and an occasional sharp shower , No chance to photograph light flowers floating in the wind but the berries were very stable in the wind on their stout stalks !
We have these plants in our front garden...you have to be very careful not to touch them. I have tried to get rid of mine but must check if they are in berry! I used to worry about the when the kids were small.
This is an interesting plant I've not seen before. I wonder if they have some sort of odor that birds can detect that warns them away. Nature is amazing.
