Day 249 - Day 5 in Brussels. No visit to Brussels would be complete without a visit to see Manneken Pis (which means little pee man in Flemish). It is a landmark of a small bronze sculpture (61cm/24inches) depicting a naked little boy urinating into a fountain's basin. It was designed by Hiëronymus Duquesnoy the Elder and put in place in 1618 or 1619. Today's statue is an identical replica (due to the original having been stolen, kidnapped and even broken over the years) the original can be found in the Museum of the City of Brussels.
@louannwarren@madeinnl@ludwigsdiana@chrisiow Thank you all for your lovely comments - funny thing was we went a couple of days later and he was dressed in a Belgium football strip as they were due to play that day!
