That was what the man hanging out the open door would be saying as his partner was driving the streets. This is a microbus in Guatemala. A mini-van with the seats in the back removed. They would drive around and pick up as many people as they could possibly squeeze in. This is there version of public transportation in the smaller towns and villages
Lovely scene and that's so true about squeezing in as many people as possible. I remember that from our travels to some of the Caribbean island. I also recall their driving skills.....a bit scary to say the least :-)
I think there is some version of this type of transportation in many countries. They are always amusing to see but certainly don't look that safe to be in!
Wow! Wonder how many people are actually inside? Do you remember when it was fun to see how many people you could squeeze into a VW van...this reminds me of that!
When i was in Guatemala we also rode in the backs of small pick-ups, with an A frame of pipe in the bed so everyone could crows in standing up but those in the center could grip the top bar and everyone else could grip those in the center. We were in Santiago Atitlan to work at a small Mayan School there. Later I used the school setting in one of my novels. I love Guatemala
No health & safety there then & were are the seat belts? They seem to take life by the scruff of the neck & good luck to them, the less rules the better!
He needs a crash helmet. And knee pads.................and elbow pads.........in fact he needs a seat with a sea belt! I am too much of a wimp to do this; great catch though Brian:0)
nice, eh.
How dangerous is that for the guy hanging off the side.
I love that you show me what I would never see.
