Then and Now.....Giles Grocery

So l thought it would be fun to do a new short series. Taking a photo from my historic archive collection and taking a shot from the location now.
The top shot is Giles Grocery which was built in 1911. The bottom was the grocery store and the top was apartments.
Today the building is still standing and it is home to Glenora Gallery and Framing
Wonderful comparison of then and now. Great concept. Hope you can find more places like this.

Great to see the then and now together. I took a shot along these lines recently but haven't posted it yet because I have been doing the half and half challenge.

A great comparison shot. The building itself does not look to have changed too much over time.

it looks so much more inviting in the older photo with the door at the front and all of those goods displayed in the window.

I did this for my young students as a way to learn about the history of their town. There may be an interested teacher when you finish this series. I'm so happy this old building is still in use. Fun idea for you to pursue!
