The Paramount by bkbinthecity

The Paramount

In 1950 the Paramount Theatre opened its doors to the public. This theatre had a beautiful almost regal like interior. It remained in business until 2003. In 2006 the City Centre Church moved in and remained here for a few years. It is currently vacant
Cool picture.

A nice shot, pity it is vacant.

Such places when they are empty look terrible. They are created for the crowds. I think their time has passed.

The history is so interesting. Such a shame that these buildings are not really reinvented through time. So many remain vacant. Thanks for sharing :)

I hope this gets a new use soon. I just love proper vintage cinemas like the ones I visited as a child. The plush red seating, the little stage at the front where the organist used to play, the red velvet curtains. A bygone era but a lovely one.

It will be interesting to see what happens to it in the future!

Pity it has been left vacant. There was a theatre with the samr namr in Malta. Don't know if it still exists.

Every large city has old, empty theaters! If yours has a beautiful interior, maybe it could be used for concerts and plays.

Such a relic from the past. Hopefully someone will repurpose it, especially with its regal interior.
