Today's house was built in 1913 for Edmonton's first sheriff Walter Scott Robertson.
He arrived in Edmonton in 1881. He established a General Store and flour mill. He also dealt in real estate. He was president of the Edmonton Rifle Association.
In 1884 he was appointed Deputy Sheriff and then in 1905 was appointed sheriff.
The house was considered very unique as it was the most northerly adaptation of Frank Lloyd Wrights Prairie architecture.
Scott only enjoyed the house for a short time as he passed away in 1915. His family lived here until 1919.
I decided to take a picture straight on and then one from the side to highlight the unique design of this house
That is very unique! Especially the cupola in the center- even unique for Wright. Glad you showed us both views- too bad he didn't get to live in this house for long. It's really beautiful.
