Great news!
Today she spent most of her time in bed, freaking out with a home alarm thats been going off for most of the day.. but when my sweetie came home she played a bit, drank lots and loved the new pinenuts and even tried a nice ripe pear.
Best thing of all? She's started to build a nest under the ivy that is growing on the cherry-tree in the garden! She's been getting the moss off the lawn and taking it up there. Its just fab that she's turning into a proper squirrel, although she still likes a bit of company with her, seems to give her more confidence. Hopefully it means she'll stick around when she finally decides to leave the comfort of her box.. and hopefully we get to watch her for a few years!
THANKYOU! Yes, called her SQ. Born out of being fed up with texting 'Squirrel' all the time, yep, so lazy!
And Cherrill, thankyou. I know what you mean about envy. I miss her so much, and my other half is filming her on his camera for me, am missing out so much. Damn working!!
I can't thank you enough for brightening my day with your photo and your update of how well "our little girl" is doing. You do realize she's no longer yours, she belongs to the 365 gang.
Nice shot, but at my house we call them home wreckers. They raid the bird feeders and eat my rhododendron buds and generally make a nuisance of themselves. Cute as they are, I'd like to find a humane way of getting rid of them because they are definitely multiplying.
Sorry you dont like squirrels, but each to their own. Dont know how you can decide between creatures though. Yes, they are annoying when they dig up plants etc, but then birds can be annoying too! They eat my plant seeds and poop! All nature is wonderful tho, and all deserve to live. Surely we dont kill them just because they are a slight inconvenience?
Frieda: I'd never even think of killing them, but I would like to relocate a few of ours. Now that we have several families feeding in our yard, it is getting out of hand. One or two would be fine.
Just noticed in the previous picture that he is a she. Almost missed that line. Oops! Glad she is doing well and your other half is a very good "daddy". What a luck squirrel!
