Piha is a beloved black sand beach west of Auckland. Popular with surfers, those who love wild wavy surf or people like me who just like to walk a wild windy beach.
Most amazing environment, but don't loose your respect for that sea...it can turn at a moment's notice.
Very nice pic. I like the lighting contrast on the board. Highlighted in fron, dark on the back. Maybe placing the person on the right part of the photo would have worked a bit better (giving more space towards his walking direction. Although it might have cut his shadow, which is also a very interesting element.
Actually, i look it for a second time, and the photo look very good like it is. Putting the person on the right (with the shadow on teh far right) will ceate too much "emptiness" on the left. :-)
