Crazy patchwork cushion by busylady

Crazy patchwork cushion

My apologies to those of you who looked and/or commented on my previous posting for today. I decided that it was just too awful so I've deleted it! Instead I've been working on a crazy patchwork cushion today and this is a close-up of the detail. It's a way of using up lots of fabric scraps. I've enjoyed playing around with some of the fancy stitches my machine can do.
Really pretty and a good use of remnants.

I love those fancy stitches - do you use special thread for them?

Seems like you have a lot of choice of stitches, must be difficult to choose which stich, colour thread and shape. You have put it all together beautifully.

Thank you all for your response to my cushion. @lesleyallen I do have a lot of stitch choices on my machine. This is a great way of trying them out and using this as a sort of sampler. @happypat Yes this is all my own work although I did go to a class to learn how to do the crazy patchwork. @judithg No I didn't use any special thread, just used up lots of old bits of ordinary thread. It was fun to do. @mogmitchell Thanks for that - I never thought of it in terms of Autumn colours but you're right. I fancy doing a Christmas one now using up oddments of Christmas fabric.
