Asparagus by busylady

Asparagus

This will be the last of the allotment asparagus, picked today. We started picking at the end of April and gave a lot away as we just can't eat it fast enough. It's been an uninspiring day for weather, with strong winds ,but sadly the forecast rain didn't materialise.
Despite the weather here's three good things
Catching up with friends over coffee
Doing a skype call with Imogen this evening - she showed me how well she can play a tune on her keyboard
Lots of asparagus to enjoy
What a great capture, so much detail.

@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil, yes it's delicious, especially if we can manage to eat it the day it's picked.

Clever you to grow them as well as getting such a good photo of them. Are they difficult to grow - I've recently aquired a taste for them!

This is so artistic! I can see this hanging on a kitchen wall. The colors are terrific as is the detail.

@mejbronant No not difficult at all. I inherited an allotment with them already established so we just pick them for two months every year. The worst part is keeping them clear of weeds. I failed miserably this year. I think they are difficult to establish at first and you can't pick any for the first three years so you have to be patient.
