I was selling raffle tickets for this lovely quilt at a charity coffee morning today. It was made collectively by our patchwork group - we all made a square and then one of our members put it all together. We made £150 altogether which we were well pleased with, as it's going towards the cost of a borehole in Zimbabwe.
Oh that's gorgeous. Mum just won a quilt from her quilting group - it was given to the group by the husband of one of their number who died recently and the quilting teacher finished it off. She is delighted as it has such emotional meaning - quilts always have anyway I think but especially in this case. And I am getting one of hers so she can make room!
This is a beautiful quilt - have you finished the raffle as I would have loved to have bought some tickets to try and win it? stunning (I appreciate all sorts of sewing as I am so useless myself!)
@emmadurnford Thank you for your comments. Actually yes we held the raffle on the same day as it's quite expensive to do it with a proper license (£40) The cheapest way is to use cloakroom tickets but then you can only show your prizes at one event. The winner was a worthy recipient as she was a former head of textiles at a local secondary school.
