It was warm hazy day with a chance of rain, so not the best day for views of the distant mountains. However it was a wonderful opportunity to experience a piece of history. Built in the 1400's over a period of 600 years or more, to keep out the Mongolians. Parts of it were quite a challenge to walk as the steps were uneven and steep. Internet access is excruciatingly slow, it takes me over an hour to post one picture so please excuse my lack of comments.
I compared my shot to this Judith & there's no contest between Christmas decorations & this wonderful view. Looks amazing & this is somewhere I would love to visit! Fave.
A stunning and very memorable view Judith , and I love Pat's @happypat comment Two entirely different categories of photos each one having merit in their own class
Terrific pov - had a young friend who spent the year in China and had posted a lot of pictures from this area but not this long view. Wonderful. Her shots had that mist, too, so it must not be uncommon. Think it really adds to it. Fav
Fabulous sense of the length of the wall, the variation in height, and the structure. Well captured! I haven't been to the wall in 22 years so I must get back!
