Yes I have been taking pictures recently but I just don't seem to have found time to upload them! This was taken from the window of the workhouse in Southwell (pronounced Suthell) Owned by the National Trust the old workhouse has recently been restored to show how it was in the early 1800's. This view shows the kitchen garden and the privvy at the end of the walled area used for exercise. A fascinating insight into life as a pauper. It must have been a hard life.
People in Nottingham say Suthell
People in Sothwell say SOUTH...WELL
I say SOUTH WELL .
Lovely view. Drive past the minster , over the hill to Oxton and you are in sunny Arnold !!!
