I've almost finished packing my shoeboxes for this year. Each one has a soft toy, pens and pencils, hat, puppet, toothbrush and soap, as well as something to play with. We're not allowed to put in toothpaste or sweets any more. I try to make mine to match the ages of our Grandchildren, so one for a girl aged 9-13, two for boys aged 5-9 and one for a 2-4 year old boy. I really enjoy filling them up and have spent time knitting hats and puppets this year to put in. I'm not sure which country they will go to this year, but they will be sent to children who would otherwise not receive a gift at Christmas.
How wonderful they look, you have put so much thought into each box. I find it great that they get sent to different countries where they will be much appreciated for sure. I can picture the happiness of the children who receive them. Here we do shoeboxes (much smaller than yours) for local charity organizations, they are so needed.
A wonderful contribution of beautiful and thoughtful gifts . Some child will be very happy to receive one of your boxes this Christmas ! Well done Judith - I felt quite emotional that I no longer do this !
It’s a great idea Judith, I did some for a few years….I loved filling them. I did teenagers as i was told they get neglected a bit but yours are real beauties. Wish you could see the faces when opened!
I must make the effort.....
